Hello everyone! I have a brilliant post to show you today, it's a colour I've been dying to blog about ever since I got it but it was really important for me to do this shade justice - Ozotic 509. Ozotic 509 is a gorgeous silver holographic shade and is described as follows:
"This shade has no glitter - it contains a holographic shimmer that will bring rainbows to your fingertips!
Your nails will take on a whole new dimension when in bright light or sunlight, sparkling with all the colors of the rainbow!"
I could ramble on about this polish all day, but let's see some photos of this gorgeous colour.
Look at that holo effect, the force is strong with this one. I used three coats of Ozotic 509 to reach opacity and the desired holo effect.
Ozotic 509 is available for purchase from Canadian e-tailer Harlow & Co. right here for $17.00 CAN. If you don't have a classic silver holo in your life yet then this is one I would recommend. The holographic effect is strong and Ozotic bottles contain 0.5 oz / 14 mL. While it may seem expensive at first glance it evens out when you look at the price / mL ratio.
My dear friend Carla lent me her Nikon D5100 so I could take some worthwhile pics of this polish for you, so please keep reading after the break. I warn you, I may have gone a little crazy with the photos.
Here it is blinding us with the flash. This isn't the first linear holo polish that I own, but it's actually the first one I've done a whole mani with. I'm a little bit of a hoarder you might say.
This is what it looks like in most low light, you can tell that there's going to be some crazy holo once light hits it but it's a pretty silver with a rainbow tint.
THIS is what I'm talking about. Look at the bottle, are you convinced?
Some pretty bottle shots for you guys. See how it's not a silver polish with holo in it, it's actually pure holo.
Oh Ozotic 509, you had me at hello.
Silver holographic polishes remind me of the descriptions of unicorn blood from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, I can just see Professor Quirrell with some Ozotic 509 dripping from the corner of his mouth - creepy! I love this polish so much and I'm so glad it's mine. Three easy coats for an awesome linear holo effect. Do you guys have any comparable polishes? Holos are pretty big right now, what's your favourite holo polish?
Check out Harlow & Co. to find "exclusive, international nail polish you've been searching for" such as Ozotic, Glitter Gal, Models Own, piCture pOlish, Nerd Lacquer and more.

You had me at the Harry Potter reference (; But seriously, it's a super awesome polish!
ReplyDeleteI bought mine from Llarowe in colorado. I cant wait to get it! Hers cost $17.50, but the shipping was only a couple of bucks. Plus she lets me use paypal. Harlows shipping was 8 bucks. Im in ontario! That's ridiculous! Thanks for sharing. This is my dream holo!!! I also bought the black holo, 526.
ReplyDeleteDid you use a base here? I just got Greta from The Make Up Store and it's not applying well. I've been doing some Aqua Base research, so I was just curious what you did, cause it seems to have gone well. :)
ReplyDeleteHi there!
DeleteNo I didn't use any kind of base at all. I know some holos are fussy and require you to purchase an aqua base as well as the polish to get a nice effect, this is why I don't mind spending a little more on an Ozotic or Glitter Gal holo since you don't need the base!
Makeup Store Greta is absolutely breathtaking though, I hope you get it to work for you!

Thanks so much for the reply! I actually didn't know that Ozotic and Glitter Gal holos didn't require a base. I could pick up the MUS Aqua Base here, but it's like 14E, so I believe I'll wait till I'm back in Canada and order a cheaper one. Can't waaait.
