Pastel Stripes

Hola a todos! Today I have a pretty simple design to show you all, it's just some simple colourblock-esque stripes on a pretty neutral base. Mixing nude colours with neons has been in style lately, but I'm predicting that neutrals and pastels will be big soon because they make a lovely combination.
I suppose if I had used tape this manicure would have sharper lines, but that takes forever and I was lazy when I set out to do this. I think this is probably a look that I'll try again with different colours, maybe add some jazzing up to the stripes too.

The base was OPI Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh, and the stripes were OPI Thanks a Windmillion, OPI Pink Friday, OPI A Grape Fit!, China Glaze Secret Periwinkle, and Illamasqua Load.

What do you think about this colour scheme?

CrowsToes Gomez

Hi everyone! Sorry for my little absence, school started this week and things have been surprisingly hectic! Today I have one of the polishes that came in my Llarowe order to show you all, the beautiful and complex CrowsToes Gomez! This polish is jam packed full of glitter, and is the first indie polish that I have had the privilege of trying (apart from Lynnderellas, but are those indies? Let's not get into that). I didn't have to place any of the glitter, and there was a tonne on the brush every time I dipped it into the bottle. I layered this beauty over top of Illamasqua Load.
I love this polish. Period. I love it I love it I love it.

Are you seeing all these types of glitters? Different sizes, different colours, different shapes, this is how you make a captivating indie polish.

I know some people don't like bar glitter because they think it looks hairy, but the bar glitter in this is so sparse that it really only adds dimension and not any type of hairy feeling at all!

I love how this looks in the shade because you can see all the colours of glitter so brightly, the different blues, the purple, the yellow, the black, it all works together so perfectly.

Here's a little bonus photo infront of one of the roses that my boyfriend gave me. What a perfect, perfect man, he brought me a dozen red roses and took me out for dinner!

Here are the two colours that I used!

Flowers and Polka Dots

Good morning everyone! Today I have a mani that I did for a facebook group I'm in, PAA, for our Mani Monday Nail Art Challenge. This week's theme was floral, but I wasn't sure about doing flowers on all my nails so I chose two accent nails!

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice!

Hello and happy Saturday! I think after a week of trying to get the perfect manicure to submit to Rebecca Likes Nails' contest, I finally have one I'm willing to submit! If you've been reading my posts for the past week you're probably sick of hearing this, but as a recap the theme is "gradients, animal prints, bows, dots, and Hello Kitty." My friend Anisha, who helped me with the logistics of how to combine so many themes into one manicure, and I have been coming up with tons of ideas to find the perfect submission for the contest. If you're visiting my page for the first time it'd be great if you could check out my other potential submissions: here, here, and here.
I'm so pleased with how this mani turned out! Keep reading for more photos and to see the colours I used to create this look.

La Vie en Rose

Hello everyone! I am so excited to show you today's mani because it might very well be one of my favourites ever! Now I know it's not very original, and I would love to credit one source for my inspiration but there are a trillion manis just like this and I can't narrow it down. I really wanted to do something that was girly and pretty, and I don't mean pretty as in "oh that's cool," more like "wow, how feminine and sweet!"
How can you go wrong with roses and polka dots?
For this mani I used China Glaze Secret Peri-winkle as the base colour for most of my nails, and Illamasqua Load as the base on the accent nails and for the polka dots. I then used my dotting tools to create pretty pink roses using OPI Kiss Me on my Tulips, OPI Pink Friday, and OPI Green-wich Village for the leaves.

Flirty Polka Dots

I am so excited to show you guys today's mani because it is using a new polish that my ex-roommate brought me from New Jersey. I knew I had to buy this colour because of the name, and because Kayla Shevonne recommended it and said it was one of her favourite polishes of all time! Do you know which one it is yet?
If you guessed Illamasqua Load, you're right! For this mani I used Load as a base, then my dotting tools and OPI Pink Friday, OPI Strawberry Margarita, and Quo by ORLY Red Hot for the polka dots. Another tip I learned from Kayla's blog was filling in some of the polka dots with the base colour to make them look hollow. (Can I just admit that I originally wrote "holo" and not "hollow" .. nail blogger problems!)
I think my bottle of Seche Vite is getting too gloopy to use, look at what it did to this mani :( Keep reading for more pics!
