Good morning everyone! It's already day 5 of the challenge, and I'm still feeling good! I love being forced to change my nails daily, while exhausting it's also a lot of fun. Today I decided to revisit a look that I recreated last August after seeing it on Kayla Shevonne's blog - it's patchwork nails!
I used a base of China Glaze For Audrey and to make the different patches I used OPI Fly, OPI Dating a Royal, OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui, and OPI Unfor-Greta-bly Blue from the upcoming Germany collection (stay tuned for swatches later today!) I used a really thin striping brush and China Glaze Liquid Leather to paint on the stitches.
While I think this is really pretty, were I to do this type of nail art again in the future I definitely prefer it with contrasting colours.
I really like my interpretation of the colour blue! I wasn't sure about throwing the shimmery blue shade in there, but I think it offers a nice flare to the otherwise all-creme design.
For a little idea of how far I've come with my nail care, nail art, and photography, here's a photo of the last time I attempted this type of manicure in August 2011.
Once again, here is the plan for the challenge. I wonder what I'll come up with tomorrow for violet!
Please take the time to check out the blogs of the talented ladies who are also participating in this challenge!
I love this! Reminds me of a little patchwork doll ;-)
ReplyDeleteme too! or a cozy quilt! Thank you :)
DeleteToo cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Turned out much better this time around :P
ReplyDeleteThese turned out so adorable! The blues compliment each other nicely, and I love the comparison shot from the last time. Good call on the shimmer, too--it's a great little accent!
ReplyDeleteThanks Elizabeth! You pretty much took the words right out of my mouth, I love the way the hint of shimmer made the manicure a little more dynamic. Pretty funny comparison shot hey? It's crazy what a year can do!
