Teal Comparison

Good morning everyone! I'm excited to bring you guys a comparison post today which will hopefully clear up the air surrounding some possible dupes. When Zoya Wednesday arrived in the mail, my friend Anisha commented how similar it is to China Glaze For Audrey, and in a mission to prove her wrong I have done a comparison of four popular polishes that I'm sure most of you are familiar with.

From left to right: OPI Thanks a Windmillion, OPI Mermaid's Tears, Zoya Wednesday, China Glaze For Audrey

Keep reading for some more photos!

See? These aren't dupes AT ALL! There are four unique shades here, though admittedly all belonging to the same family.

I feel as though these span the teal-light blue spectrum pretty well, ranging from more sage-toned to bright and fun like Wednesday, and then For Audrey is classic baby blue

For these photos I used two coats of each colour to get the opacity seen in the photos, and no topcoat!

A close up of the supposed dupes: no way! For Audrey is much chalkier and a pure baby blue, while Wednesday is more turquoise

A close up of the two OPIs, Thanks a Windmillion is much dustier and is also a tad darker

Flash!

Overall I really love these colours so I am perfectly happy having all four of them in my stash, they all have great formulas and they're perfect for spring and summer. Do you have any of these four polishes? Do you still feel the need to own the others if you have one?

  1. I don't have any of these four, but I do have one that I think really is a dupe for For Audrey (I compared them side by side in the store, not on my nails.) It's L'Oreal Club Prive. Thanks for the comparisons!

  2. Great comparison! I guess to the average person, these might look the same. But, as a polish hoarder - I mean collector - I need all four! lol. The only one I don't have is Mermaid's Tears, but it's been on my wishlist for a while now.

  4. thanks so much for this... i just got zoya wednesday & wondered how closely the color was to for audrey, afraid i'd regret getting the zoya. i love the zoya so much better, a bit of a richer color & works better with my dark skin tone. for audrey would've been brighter than i would've appreciated... you've done a great service swatching all four, gracias!
