Expired Polish??

Hello hello! It's been a while, but don't worry I'm still alive!

I've been extremely busy with school as my diploma exams (final exams in Alberta) are this month and they're worth 50% of my overall grade... So you can imagine the importance of these test scores! I've already written one of my four, but since it was the written portion of English it's my easiest one. Next up are comprehension of English, math, and physics. Wish me luck!

I wanted a little pop of color this week because studying was getting on my nerves already. Twilight NOX's Poseidon is one of my favorite blue polishes, but when I went to put it on it seemed a lot darker and dusty than before. I thought it was just my eyes playing tricks on me but I guess the polish really did change its color! Here's my first post ever on this blog of the same polish, definitely not the same anymore. Has this ever happened to you before?

I'm so heartbroken over this! It looks like a steel blue grey now instead of the vibrant lovely sky blue it was before! :( If you guys know of any dupes, please let me know!

Thanks for reading,
Mandy
xoxo

  1. The colour change may be due to storage conditions, i.e. exposure to direct sun, heat/cold. As long as the formula is unchanged I would say it's still ok to use. Also you may want to contact the manufacturer with before/after pictures and let them know what's happened.

  4. I'm sorry to hear that happened, I would hate for that to happen to my polishes.
You could try Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream or Barry M Turquoise. I know I've seen a Barry M polish that was practically the exact same color, but I don't remember which it was.

  5. It sounds to me more like a temperature issue (polish needs to be stored in a cool area)than expiration since nail polish doesn't actually expire. You might want to try adding just a bit of thinner and see if that helps. I here Barry M has two great sky blues if you are looking to replace the polish.

  6. the pigment in this polish color was bad. EVERYone that i know that bought this color has the exact same problem. NOX was contacted about it and even their warehouse stock had done the same thing. :( fortunately, none of their other colors had any similar problems.
