OPI Euro Centrale Full Collection - Swatches & Review

Hi everyone! I am so excited to be able to share with you swatches of the entire OPI Euro Centrale collection today. This collection is OPI's Spring/Summer 2013 line and features both bright and bold lacquers inspired by Romania, Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. "Celebrating a region where history meets modern design, the collection’s twelve new nail lacquers offer a mixture of glamorous metallic hues; playful bright shades in periwinkle, aqua and pink; and creamy blues in indigo, midnight and aubergine."  I have hidden the rest of the post below the jump so that it doesn't take up the entire front page, so please click to read more!
The first lacquer from the collection is OPI You're Such a BudaPest, described in the press release as a periwinkle-purple. The description here is really accurate, when I first saw photos I thought this would be close to a dupe for some of my other OPIs but in my comparison post you will see that this shade isn't a true purple.
I used three coats of OPI You're Such a BudaPest to reach opacity. The third coat probably wouldn't be necessary if you were using thicker coats. The formula was nice, no complaints!

Later this week I'll have a comparison post up for quite a few of these shades - this one included. I love this soft lilac-periwinkle shade for spring, I think it's super feminine!

Here's a bonus flash picture for you. Is it just me or is there a trace of silver shimmer in there?

The next shade is one of my favourites from the collection, OPI Can't Find My Czechbook. OPI describes this as an aqua and I agree with them. This shade is very clean and wearable.

Two coats were needed for opacity and the formula was really nice on this polish! Again, this colour is just screaming spring and summer to me. I will be using this over and over again in nail art.

OPI My Paprika is Hotter than Yours! is the next polish up for review and it's a beautiful red creme with a flawless formula. I feel like I have seen this colour before, but we all know it's difficult to come up with new red polishes, so all is forgiven. Nevertheless, if you are in the market for a shade like this I would definitely recommend it.

This red is so glossy, I can totally see it being worn on a date to grab some milkshakes or something. Don't you think it looks a little retro?

OPI Hands of my Kielbasa! is a "bronzy tan" according to OPI, but I think I would call it a bronzy pink maybe. It's definitely not a colour I would pick out in a store because it's not very fun, but it was flattering and had a nice formula. I used two easy coats of Hands of my Kielbasa! to reach opacity.

I really wish my new apartment had direct sunlight because I bet this comes alive when the light hits it!
The best I could do was to take a flash picture. I'm not in love with this shade, but I must commend OPI for the formula. Can you see any streaks? This polish is somewhat frosty and shimmery, but it does a nice job of self leveling.

OPI I Saw...U Saw...We Saw Warsaw (phew, what a name!) is a beautiful deep blue with hints of teal. I can't get over how glossy all of the creme polishes in this collection are. This colour had the same formula I've come to expect from this collection and so I used two easy coats.

While this isn't the first colour I think of in a spring collection it is very pretty and I think will prove to be versatile.

Oh, hello! This beauty of a polish is OPI Vant to Bite My Neck? described as a "deep eggplant." Well, this colour is nothing if not deep! I personally don't own any purples like this so I am ecstatic about having this in my collection.

Not only is the colour lovely, but the formula was easy as pie to work with. Two quick coats dry to a very glossy finish.

OPI Eurso Euro is a "deep blue creme," not much more else to say on that front! I can see this getting a lot of use in nail art, but it reminds me of some other nail polish shades that came out in the past year. I've never been too crazy about blues, but maybe this shade will really excite some people!

Once again, application was a breeze with two quick coats. This almost felt like a crelly, that is, a mixture between a creme and a jelly polish.

YUM! What else is there to say about OPI A Woman's Prague-ative? This is a fiery shimmery orange-copper that really surprised me. I wasn't expecting to like this colour at all and I thought it was boring, but as usual, OPI do gorgeous shimmers and this one has me falling head over heels.

Depending on which way you shift your hand it can appear more or less copper/orange which is really neat. This polish had the best formula of the entire collection and only took two coats for opacity, which is excellent coverage for a shimmer!

So this got a little confusing because I'm not sure what Oy - Another Polish Joke is supposed to be. I heard at first that it was a topcoat, so I didn't bother trying to make it opaque. Shown here is one layer over top of A Woman's Prague-ative. I love the way this adds to the firey look.

I think I will have to do a seperate post all about Oy - Another Polish Joke because I'm seeing endless colour combinations.
What do you suggest I layer this over next?

What's a spring collection without a perfect pink creme? OPI Suzi's Hungary AGAIN! is a very nice warm pink creme. I bet if you searched hard enough you could find quite a few dupes of this polish, and I will have some comparisons in an upcoming post. Again, if you're looking for a pink similar to this, I absolutely recommend picking Suzi's Hungary AGAIN! up.

If the colour isn't enough to win you over, how about yet another flawless formula? Easy two coat application and high gloss finish.

Now, I love me some springy bright coloured polishes, but this eggshell creme was what I was most anticipating from the collection. Pictured above is OPI My Vampire is Buff and it's a very very lovely off white.

Unfortunately, I needed three coats of OPI My Vampire is Buff to reach opacity. I'm not sure if the problems rested in the formula itself, or if it was a side-effect of the wonky brush on my bottle.

Here's a comparison against my grey-white curtains, this is absolutely NOT white. I love the description that OPI gives: "creamy, pale, and nude...just how I like my vampires." Hilarious!

OPI Polka.com is the final colour in this collection and it is also a surprise favourite of mine! I thought from looking at bottle pictures that it was a two-toned glitter of magenta and blue, but little did I know there is also gorgeous lilac glitters!

In these photos I have shown one coat of OPI Polka.com over both OPI Eurso Euro and OPI My Vampire is Buff.

I really can't get over how in love I am with this colour combination. I can see myself layering this over almost any colour from this collection and having a kickass mani. By nature glitter polishes are a little thick and this was no exception, but it was in no way difficult to work with in my opinion.

Phew - that was a lot of swatching! How are you all feeling about this collection? For me, the absolute must haves are My Vampire is Buff, You're Such a BudaPest, Polka.com, and Can't Find my Czechbook.

Later this week I should have up a comparison post featuring some of these colours and sometime next week I hope to incorporate these into some nail art to share with you!

These were kindly sent to me for my honest opinion.

  9. I really like My Vampire is Buff, but I'm not sure if I need it. I have an Essie that is sorta similar. But I like the glitter over it so I may have to play around with that.

    1. I think they are watching indie brands as well! Just look at a few of the releases China Glaze came out with in their Circque collection! I think it's awesome though! I don't really see anything Indie in this collection though.
