Nicki Minaj for OPI Swatches & Review

The day is finally here everyone, swatches of the most anticipated collection of the year: Nicki Minaj for OPI! I have four of the colours from the six piece collection to show you today and let me warn you ahead of time, this post is going to be extremely picture heavy, but I know most of you won't mind that! I know everyone is anxious to see the swatches so I won't keep you reading!

Keep reading to see detailed descriptions of all four of these colours and a lot more pictures!

Here are some bottle shots before we get to the actual swatches.
Did It On 'Em, Pink Friday, Save Me, Fly

Since Save Me is so beautiful and unique it deserves a few extra bottle shots, here it is with the flash

Look at all that beautiful holo bar glitter! I'm impressed, OPI.

Onto the swatches! First up is Pink Friday, a cool bubblegum pink creme that has a beautiful formula. I used two coats for my photos and this one had the thickest formula of the three creme shades. The colour can be described as a light  pink that leans a little to the cool side.

The next shade up is Did It On 'Em, a lime-yellow-green-chartreuse shade that many have said is between two of the shades from the OPI Shrek Collection. I think this is a very ugly-pretty colour and it's not for the faint of heart. It was opaque in three coats and it is extremely bright, especially in the sun. I think this shade is a great addition to the collection.

Fly is a brilliant bright blue that leans close to turquoise/teal but without leaving the realm of being blue. This colour didn't catch my eye in the press release but I knew I wanted to pick it up because I couldn't believe OPI would choose a boring blue to represent Nicki Minaj, and they didn't disappoint! This colour is SO bright and beautiful, although it may have been the most sheer of the three. I used three coats to built this polish up and I LOVE the way it looks. I didn't get the Superbass shatter but I have seen that it looks awesome over top of Fly!

The final polish that I received from the Nicki Minaj collection is the eagerly awaited Save Me. Save Me is full of tiny silver glitter in a clear base, but what makes it special is the pastel/holographic bar glitter that adds such a unique look. From what I can tell, the bar glitter is blue, yellow and pink, but all colours of the rainbow are present when you see this polish in the sunlight. I have showed you how to build this polish up in the photos and for my final swatches I used four coats.

One coat on the pinky, two on the ring finger, three on the middle finger and four on the index!

Same idea as the above photo

I think this collection is great and all these colours work really well together. They're all bright and fun and I would expect nothing less from a collaboration between OPI and Nicki Minaj. I don't think I can pick a favourite from this collection, they're all so unique. Come back tomorrow and I will post some comparison swatches for you guys! I hope you enjoyed this sneak peek into the January release! Which colours from this fabulous collection catch your eye, are you going to be running out to purchase any of them?
xoxo Nikki
